Trucks are fair game when it comes to graffiti. Most graffiti stays in the one place, with the exception of trains, trucks or any other mobile vehicle. Trucks are unique in their own way because unlike trains they are flexible and don't have a set route or line. This can give the artist free advertisement moving across the city. Trains are buffed daily, but white canvas trucks often have years of paint accumulation. Truck bombing is generally quick and its dominated by tags and throw-ups. Pieces are rare because they take longer. Speed and efficiently is essential for the best artists to maintain their street profile. Truck bombings occur when there is surrounding high-density graffiti like the inner-suburbs of Melbourne.

RIP Collingwood Silos

I was lucky enough to visit the silos when it was still abandoned back in 2013. Back when I used to go on trips weekly exploring new places and finding graffiti along the way. The silos, or Yorkshire Brewery Site had an incredible vibe. Many of Melbourne's big names had come here to paint Phibs, Break, Rone, Sofles, Maid, Jetso, Peezor, Tres, Bailer, Everfresh to name a small few. It had established an artistic pride which spilled out to onto the neighboring streets. Graffiti painted on the way to and from. The buildings blocked entries, had been pushed open by urban explorers. It was abandoned since 1996 and is listed as a heritage building. Its sad to see such a phenomenal hub lost. Town houses and apartments are well underway. But this is the ephemeral nature of this art, the graffiti will continue and has thrived over the last 30 years. Walls are lost and new ones are found and pioneered, and then they become the next big thing. In many ways graffiti isn't temporary its just the deteriorating architecture that is. 

The Art of Bombing!

For some people graffiti wasn't intended to be beautiful. Someone once said graffiti is a response to "bad architecture" which I couldn't of agreed more. Cities are fucking depressing places. I can't spend to much time there otherwise I choke whether it be air pollution, traffic and noise (offense to all your senses). Jetso Peezor are amongst the most notorious bombers with there distinctive throw-up dominating the cities inner- suburbs.  

Bubble Throw-up Styles

A throw-up or throwie is the artists pseudonym or sometimes the first and last letter of their name. They often have one outline colour and one fill colour. Sometimes they don't have any fill. Throw-ups are designed to cover large and generally high profile spaces quickly and rapidly without being caught.
